About Me

My interest in photography started in the 1980’s while still living in South Africa. The equipment I used there was rather simple and I was not very adventurous in exploring all that photography had to offer. Since moving to the USA, the hobby has become a passion. I have really enjoyed being part of camera clubs, taking on various administrative positions, including being president. It is truly wonderful to discuss and explore photography with likeminded enthusiasts. I am married and am extremely lucky to share an avid interest in all forms of photography with my husband, Mervyn.
I enjoy most aspects of photography. With more travel in my life, landscapes have become fun. Along those lines I do look for intimate landscapes and close ups. Macro is fascinating.
As I have grown in my photographic ability, monochrome has grabbed my attention. Developing the ability to see in black and white is a constant learning process. It seemed to be a natural extension of my photography to try infrared. I love the crisp results one gets from infrared. I am starting to develop some color infrared which give some interesting results.
As an artist and a photographer, it is my goal to try to look at subjects that are fairly ordinary and use my ability to transform them into something extraordinary .
